The next adventure begins. Portland to Amsterdam to Zagreb. 19 hours total of travel between driving, flying and driving again, but we made it to Pazin for Sunday dinner.
Though the whole country seems to shut down on Sundays other than gas stations and a couple of random restaurants, so not much to report along the way other than the first Croatian castle stop – Utvrda Possert, in Belaj.

The castle was built in the mid-1300s and now sits in ruins down some windy, one lane roads. Just down the lane is a small church, built around the same time.

After checking into our accommodation – which has a view of the Pazin Castle, and we even parked at the castle and walked up to our apartment. Thankfully there was one pizza place open still, so we could grab a quick dinner before we completely crash.
Day one is always long.
